It’s hard to believe that it’s been over three years since the last Halloway Hills Middle School Mysteries book was released. Back then, I decided to pause the series, because it seemed like readers weren’t as interested as I’d hoped. But, after taking some time to reflect and focus on other projects, I’m thrilled to announce that the series is coming back!
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me and the Halloway Hills series over the years. Your messages, encouragement, and enthusiasm have meant the world to me. They’ve been a big part of why I’m excited to dive back into this series and continue the adventures in Halloway Hills.
Now for the exciting part—I’ve officially started writing book four in the series titled Eavesdropping on Easter. This book will follow former bully Becky Banaski, her brothers, and their friends as they uncover a brand-new mystery in their beloved town of Halloway Hills.
Eavesdropping on Easter is going to be a fun and mysterious adventure, filled with the same twists and turns that you’ve come to expect from the series. This time, Becky and her friends will be solving the case of the missing Easter eggs, all while dealing with some peculiar behavior from the Bananskis' new kittens Ginger and Ghost.
So why now, after all this time? The truth is, I’ve had the idea for Eavesdropping on Easter since the start of the series and I was disappointed that the series didn't sell very well. But I realized some stories need to be told regardless if one or one-hundred people read them. I couldn’t let these characters’ adventures end just yet. Plus, I'm excited to get to work illustrating the cover.
I’d love for you to join me on this journey as I bring Halloway Hills back to life. Since this series was designed for reluctant readers, with short chapters and an easy to read font, each book is more like a short story, so I'm hopeful that Eavesdropping on Easter will be here before you know it!
And I’d love to hear from you! What were your favorite moments from the first three books? Are there any mysteries you hope Becky and her friends tackle next? Your feedback and ideas are always welcome, and they help make these stories even more fun to tell.
I can’t wait to share Eavesdropping on Easter with you and continue the adventures in Halloway Hills. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
